Discover Vampire: The Masquerade - Bound by Blood, a new supplement for D&D players, featuring unique classes, clans, and an adventure set in the Dark Ages.
Ghostfire Gaming has teamed up with White Wolf to launch Vampire: The Masquerade - Bound by Blood on D&D Beyond, diving deep into the darker aspects of role-playing. This new extension grants players tools to create vampiric characters with the introduction of the Kindred class and six unique clan subclasses, alongside revamped backgrounds, feats, and gear specifically tailored for a world where vampires navigate the shadows of society.
Upon crafting their characters, players can embark on a themed adventure titled “One Last Goodbye," set in the haunting atmosphere of the Dark Ages, offering a fresh narrative experience that blends history with horror.
Embrace the Dark with the Kindred Class

At the heart of Bound by Blood lies the Kindred class. This class captures the essence of being a vampire, where players draw strength from Vitae, a potent magical blood that enhances abilities. Yet, managing the thirst and the predatory instincts represented by the Beast is integral to gameplay, adding layers of complexity to character interactions and narratives.
Six Clan Subclasses: Six Ways to Be a Vampire

The selection of clans expands character depth significantly. Players can choose from six of the original 13 clans in Vampire: The Masquerade. Each clan presents distinct abilities and thematic challenges shaped by their internal rules, thus making the choice more than just an aesthetic one:
- Brujah: Passionate rebels focused on individuality and revolution; yet, their intense emotions can provoke rage.
- Gangrel: These vampires embrace their feral nature, balancing their beastly instincts with a semblance of control, risking animalistic traits.
- Lasombra: Masters of manipulation, working with shadows, their perfectionism comes at a price through mechanical consequences in gameplay.
- Nosferatu: Burdened by their grotesque appearance, they can blend in with their monstrous traits to conceal their true nature.
- Toreador: With a profound appreciation for beauty and art, their heightened senses allow them to engage deeply with the world, but can falter in the absence of aesthetics.
- Ventrue: Known as the “Clan of Kings,” they wield significant influence but are bound by their strict dietary preferences.
Backgrounds, Feats, and More Options for a World of Darkness

Beyond the Kindred class and clans, Bound by Blood enriches the gameplay experience with a variety of backgrounds and feats suitable for both Kindred and humans who impact their worlds. Options like Ghoul, Ritualist, Thrall, and Touchstone add depth to character creation, while also boosting DM capabilities when constructing NPCs.
Some new feats include:
- Origin Feats: Such as Healthy and Protected, plus specialization for characters with diluted vampire heritage like Thin-Blooded.
- Kindred Feats: A set of vampiric abilities including Alacrity and Discipline Acquisition, enabling exchange of supernatural traits.
- Epic Boon Feat: An advanced boon for those who achieve unparalleled power.
- Equipment: The arsenal includes wooden stakes, silver weapons, and specialized tools for the hunt, alongside unique potions like Kindred Vitae.
One Last Goodbye: A Dark Ages Adventure

The included adventure, “One Last Goodbye,” translates the table into the eerie setting of a Dark Ages village called Knock Glad. Intended for a party of four to five Kindred at level 4, the narrative begins at a wake but soon spirals into a terrifying ordeal that tests their mettle against hidden threats.
This scenario encourages stealth, engagement with mortals who might expose their nature, and features innovative mechanics like a Narrated Feeding system, which keeps the action flowing without interrupting for traditional combat.
