Meta Expands Its AI Glasses Lineup with New Styles and Enhanced Features

As the tech world evolves, Meta keeps pace by introducing nearly 10 new styles of AI glasses during the Meta Connect 2026 event. These launches build on the company's July reveal that kicked off the "Meta AI Glasses" brand, marking a significant push into the smart eyewear arena.

The latest collection comprises three new models under the Meta AI Glasses label, alongside the debut of a third-generation Ray-Ban line, which offers three distinctive styles, and the introduction of the Ray-Ban Audio line—an innovative take that completely omits the camera feature.

A particularly notable development is Meta's collaboration with rising music star LISA, bringing unique design elements into two of the new styles, complemented by charming accessories included with each purchase.

Enhanced Features for Meta AI Glasses

The new models all come equipped with customizable controls, empowering users to adjust button functions and touchpad commands to meet their preferences. This flexibility extends to many existing models, broadening the upgrade accessibility.

For glasses equipped with cameras, a new landscape mode feature allows for automatic cropping and straightening of images through advanced AI algorithms. Additionally, users can activate a dynamic capture option to take a series of photos in response to a single shutter press, allowing for easy selection of the best shot.

On the audio front, Dolby Atmos certification brings an immersive experience when consuming media, letting users adjust sound settings for personalized listening. A noteworthy addition is the Hearing Enhancement mode, which has received FDA approval. This functionality leverages the glasses’ microphones to amplify nearby voices, delivering the sound through speakers positioned near the ears. While experiencing a demo, I found it significantly improved communication clarity, making it a promising feature for individuals with hearing loss. This capability is available for an additional $149 cost, while subscribers to Meta One receive it as part of their package.

Introducing Ray-Ban Meta Audio

The Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses venture into a new territory—camera-free smart glasses designed to emphasize audio functionality. Recognizing the growing concerns around privacy associated with camera-equipped devices, Meta aims to create an option that allows users to enjoy the audio features without the baggage of a built-in camera.

With a weight of just 42 grams, these models feel remarkably light compared to their camera-laden counterparts, enhancing wearability without compromising functionality. Priced starting at $349 and available from October 7, the Ray-Ban Meta Audio line illustrates a thoughtful response to user preferences.

Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3: A Design Evolution

Surprisingly quick off the mark, the Gen 3 Ray-Ban Meta models arrive with slight but meaningful refinements compared to the previous version. Available in the classic Wayfarer style as well as the new Aviator and Zena styles, the glasses incorporate enhanced microphone capabilities and improved battery life, delivering more utility without straying too far from their established aesthetic.

The Aviator features a deeper structure with larger lenses, while the Zena is designed with a nod towards a more feminine silhouette. The newly launched Warm Beige Aviators, while stylish, carry a hefty price tag of $549, signaling Meta's intention to cater to a range of consumer tastes.

All three models boast six microphones and feature customizable actions, enhancing the user experience significantly, though they notably lack adjustable nose pads—a curious omission given the focus on comfort and usability.

Collaboration with LISA: New Styles and Accessories

Even with the recent launch of Meta AI glasses, the company isn't slowing down, introducing four additional options for consumers eager for the latest designs. The new models, including the Capri and Nova, showcase innovative aesthetics tailored to diverse preferences, with a starting price of $299.

In a move to enrich the collection, Meta is also rolling out special LISA-themed designs for the Adventurer and Capri styles, featuring exclusive color accents and a signature star embellishment, capturing the artist's unique flair. Each pair comes with a specially designed case, pet charms, and exclusive digital photocards within the Meta AI app, offered collectively at $399. Additionally, an entry-level model priced at $249 makes its debut within the Adventurer style, boasting appealing affordability.

With this rapid expansion and the introduction of diverse functionalities, Meta is solidifying its place in the wearable tech market, appealing to both audiophiles and fashion-conscious consumers alike. The strategic focus on design, functionality, and partnerships signals strong future growth as Meta seeks to redefine what smart eyewear can achieve.
